Thomas und Renée Rapedius
F.093
In their sculpted works, the artist couple Thomas and Renée Rapedius search for correspondences between forms in nature and culture. Structures and patterns captured in photographs are the starting point for further artistic deliberations, which often undergo their translation into sculpture. On extensive travels, the two artists investigate different languages of form and associated content in various cultural contexts in order to trace commonalities and differences.
During a stay in Japan, the image of a three-fold flower was created. The moment of the photographic fixation of F.093 reflects the fusion of temporality - past, present, future.
