Luca Trevisani's artistic work resembles a temporary laboratory situation for the aesthetic discovery of form, on the basis of which the disciplines of art, philosophy and natural sciences are brought into equal relationship with one another and the sensitive border areas between them are explored. In expansive sculptures or pictorial subjects, he subjects culturally coded, everyday and organic materials to a recontextualization by creating diverse sensual impressions through biological and chemical processes. Visibly, these processes inscribe themselves in the external appearance of his works; thoughts on fragility and metamorphosis, as well as on the natural ability to influence a work, fundamentally determine Trevisani's artistic creation.

Nature is a Dull Affair indeed plays with the transformation of the natural product of the flower and its pragmatic appropriation in everyday life. Printed semi-transparently on pine wood, the photograph is interspersed with fine, textural grains. In this way, Trevisani deliberately adds irritating breaks to the image - here, nature turns out to be less of a "dull affair" than a rather complex structure in which it is difficult to distinguish between the natural and the artificial.
