OrderChristian Naujoks focuses in his aesthetic and composing practice on the musical and artistic potentials of the past. Naujoks works in various media and is inspired in his creative process on the one hand by the extension of (post-) conceptual art processes to the production and organization of sound, and on the other hand by the seriality and cyclical form of minimal music. During the runtime of the Villa Romana Fellows 2019 / 2020 / 2021 exhibition, visitors were able to digitally fill out a questionnaire (via QR code). The data collection served as the basis for the artist's customized scores, which were reproduced in the form of graphic notation and live performance in the exhibition and can be seen here in the print Survey Score (Salve Hospes), 2022. The accompanying Mouth Pieces, mouthpieces of brass instruments declared into readymade sculptures by Christian Naujoks, take up these survey input/output operations formally and metaphorically. The audio recording Teraz Cont., 2022, consists of a combination of musical elements from the performance and the answers to the "most fun-/worstpaid job" question and is intoned by so-called "AI"-assisted voice generators.
