OrderÖzlem Altın's works are created on the basis of her extensive image archive. Found images, replicas and prints from books, magazines or the Internet, material from museum collections as well as her own photographs and paintings, she intuitively combines them to multilayered collages. In the process, the artist transfers exclusively fragments of motifs, bodies, plants, animals and other organisms into her pictorial worlds and processes them with ink or oil paint. This is how her own non-linear narratives, whose center is the human body and its fragments. For her annual gift, Altın also makes use of archival material and presents the human body in its passivity and subjectivity. By depicting states of invisibility and phantomness, her work raises themes of identity, powerlessness, and action, and in the process repeatedly addresses hidden ideas and impressions.
